MAGIFICIENT TENT ARCHITECTURE IN MOREMI
LUXURY CAMP ON THE RIVER KHWAI
SITE LOCATION: Okavango Delta, Botswana
Khwai Leadwood is a luxury safari camp that sits on the banks of the pristine Khwai River in the community-run Khwai Concession of Moremi Game Reserve. This beautiful tented camp is tucked under the trees on the edge of the river, perfectly positioned to view the scenery and wildlife.
SCOPE OF WORK
Textile Architecture & Engineering
Tenthouse Structures design-engineered, supplied and installed the unique roof membranes, framework, canvas interior & exterior walling, pull up ceilings, blinds, mesh breeze sliders and flyouts for six luxury single tents, one family suite and the communal lounge, dining, and bar areas.
The shape of the camp is designed to resemble a bird in flight and the unique, rolled arch main area roof structure design-engineered by Tenthouse Structures, provides a striking backdrop for this beautiful site.
The fragile landscape is considered in every aspect of the project and Tenthouse Structures’ ability to bridge the gap between a creative concept and its environmental execution is evident in the design, engineering, quality materials and successful installation of this elegant and environmentally-conscious lodge.
