Tenthouse Structures

Made for the Wild

RATHER THAN BENDING NATURE TO OUR WILL,
WE ADAPT AND BEND WITH NATURE.

Bending with nature is the guiding philosophy underpinning everything we do at Tenthouse Structures; from our design approach inspired by natural elements to our focus on conservation, working with nature is the core design and business focus at Tenthouse Structures.

INNOVATIVE NATURAL DESIGN

Inspired by nature.
Driven by technology.

Nature creates innovative solutions for sudden, unpredictable changes.

Guided by her example, we design our robust tensile membrane structures to stretch, bend, deflect, and redistribute force and load. You’ll recognize this approach in the elegant architecture of the spiders’ web, the resilience of the leaf in high wind, or the way a feathered wing precisely directs lift and pitch.

We didn’t invent non-linear, bionic design. We learned it from the natural world and use it to make enduring hospitality architecture solutions that blend seamlessly with their environments.

SPECIALIZED TENSILE ARCHITECTURE

Mastering the challenge of
sustainable tensile architecture.

We design practical, nature-based tensile structures that can manage unpredictable natural forces and the practical challenges of operating tented camps, lodges, and hotels in the wilderness.

Our hospitality design framework is focused on durability, remote access, serviceability, sustainability while injecting unsurpassed luxury into the hospitality experience.

A COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIP

Managing the variables,
and mitigating the risks together.

Remote wilderness construction means shouldering additional risks and variables. Years of wilderness hospitality experience has given us a collaborative, agile, and candid approach to meeting these novel challenges.

Tenthouse Structures partners well with established design teams and hotel architects, preferred contractors, established remote communities, and Mother Nature herself.

We leverage the African philosophy of Ubuntu which encourages trust, support, problem-solving, mutual respect and focus on delivering success on our sustainable hospitality projects for all the stakeholders.

LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Light-touch Tensile Architecture.

We draw our design inspiration from the ecosystems and remote locations we build in. Working in the most pristine and unspoiled locations in the world motivates us to preserve the wilds for the future, a guiding factor you will see in all our design work.

Our challenge is to create the most environmentally sustainable, light-weight, and visually impressive fabric habitats possible, to elevate experiential ecotourism beyond any expectation.

Tenthouse Projects

We build award-winning developments into Africa and other
remote destinations around the globe.
