A PANORAMIC TENTED ARCHITECTURE EXPERIENCE
QUINTESSENTIAL LUXURY SAFARI CAMP
SITE LOCATION: Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe
Somalisa can be found in the heart of Hwange National Park Zimbabwe, an area known as the "land of the giants" for its big elephant herds. Nestled in a stunning location tucked away on an acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain, Somalisa's guests have breath-taking views of the savannah plains.
SCOPE OF WORK
Textile Architecture and Engineering
Tenthouse Structures designed, engineered, and installed the tensile membrane roofing. These custom roof membranes cover the main areas, seven luxury suites at Somalisa Camp, and four luxury safari tents at Somalisa Acacia (two of which are family units), carefully integrating the existing timber framework and decking throughout.
Added to this and in synergy with the sumptuous interior décor, Tenthouse Structures designed and supplied the canvas walling, roman blinds, and breeze-panel sliders to accentuate the classic safari style of these eco-friendly luxury structures.
The bespoke finishes on all Tenthouse Structures' materials are consistent with the luxurious attention-to-detail applied at every level throughout these elegant camps.
